"Large Scale Structural Works" To Be Carried Out At Cliffs Of Moher

Informações:

Sinopse

Large scale structural works are planned for the Cliffs of Moher in order to deter visitors from going off the official trail and creating safety risks near the cliff edge. It follows an inspection by regulatory body, Sport Ireland which found sections of the trail were ill-equipped for the large number of visitors and that warning signs are consistently ignored, leading to risky behaviour. The review was carried out in August, following two fatal incidents which occurred in May and July, and led to the closure of a 5.5km stretch of the trail. Clare Local Development Company CEO Doirín Graham has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that in light of recent events, the need for a stronger barrier is clear.
