Sinopse

A Clare Government senator says she has no faith in social media companies to regulate abuse and incitement to hatred online. It comes as a 45-year-old Dublin man has pleaded guilty to assaulting Green Party leader Roderic O'Gorman over the weekend which is just the latest in a string of attacks on politicians in recent months. A survey conducted by University College Dublin earlier this year found that some 94% of politicians and 72% of political staff have encountered some form of threat, harrassment or violence during the course of their work. Inagh-based Green Party Deputy Leader Senator Róisín Garvey claims she's reported death threats on social media before but to no avail.
