Tough situations often reveal true character. Hanging on a cross is no doubt one such situation. With death eminent, the two thieves hanging with Jesus had a couple of options. The first thief to speak chose to "rail" on Him, doubting that He was who He said He was. His uncertainty and mocking of Christ was revealed in his conditional "if" statement. Whereas, the second thief acknowledged his own condition in the light of Christ's perfection. He made a definitive statement, "When you come into your kingdom," acknowledging Christ's majesty. Where do you "hang" in life: if or when?
