The first Poetry Slam featuring poets from the Kankakee Junior High School was held at the Library on Tuesday, April 15th. Contestants competed for a $50.00 cash 1st prize and a $25.00 cash 2nd prize. 118 battlers and listeners attended this phenomenally successful event.
