Alles Blau

This new episode of Alles Blau with Desislava Pancheva (*1986 in Sofia) was recorded during the men's soccer world cup, and more specifically the morning after a tie between Switzerland and Costa Rica, which had clearly taken a toll on Desislava's voice. Nonetheless, she proved super resilient as she generously shares her story from her upbringing in Sofia, to studying in Brighton, UK as well as Milan, Italy, to opening her first studio/gallery/library, of motherhood, a short stint as a bar owner, to finally founding «Hip Hip Library», the «Sofia Art Book Fair» and really focus on «the book thing». All these different activities are driven by her need to continually reinvent herself («One of my worst fears is apathy and boredom») and evidence the stellar networker that she is. Our conversation starts and ends in Bulgaria, in the Balkans, at the gateway to the Middle East, a geographical place of constant conflict that inevitably informs the lifes of those who live in it.
