She began her nursing career as a Psychiatric Nurse and has since worked in various nursing specialties including Medical Surgical, Trauma, Liver Transplant, and currently Psychiatry. After watching the privacy of patients, and of her late mother compromised during hospital stays, Yordis was inspired to design Mijamaz, a medical pajama that protects patients’ body privacy, as well as accommodate the medical lines and appliances worn by patients in hospitals and other care settings. Yordis lives an active life involving family, friends and faith.
