Faculty: Becky Meyer, MPH, CIC and Karsten Gammeltoft, MD Target Audience: The intended target audience for Children’s Hospital’s CME programs are pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, family practice physicians, emergency room physicians, and allied health professionals who see children in their clinical practice. The CME programs will result in improved professionalism and ultimately improved quality in children’s health care. Objectives: After this session, participants should be able to: 1. Describe basic epidemiology of vectorborne disease in Tennessee. 2. Explain public health case definitions of vectorborne disease. 3. Improve confidence in making a decision regarding testing practice of suspected vectorborne illness. 4. Recognize typical presentations of infectious and noninfectious encephalitis.
