As a player, Russell Earnshaw played Premiership Rugby with West Hartlepool, Bath where he won the European Cup and Rotherham Titans. Internationally he played for England on the IRB Sevens circuit, at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and was part of the squad that played in the IRB World Series tournaments in Chile and Argentina As a coach, Russell has been assistant coach to the England 7's team and at the time of the interview, Russell was an assistant coach as part of the RFU's pathway program.
