Keasling, the Hubbard Howe Jr. Distinguished Professor of Biochemical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, discusses the causes and consequences of malaria and how scientists have successfully engineered the metabolism of a micro-organism to produce an anti-malarial drug.
