This animated video shows that one of the best ways for parents to become involved in civic life is to engage in their child's school. Together with teachers, the principal, and other parents, the school can be an important centre in your community. If you are new to Canada, some schools have Settlement workers who can help you and your child settle into your new home. Schools are great places to get information about health services, community events and other services you may need. By being active in your child's school, you can take part in local issues that matter to you and other Canadians while learning how the system works.
