Talking Motorcycles With Barry Boone

Steve McLaughlin is in the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. That induction could have been for a number of reasons. Steve joins us to discuss the 2015 AMA Pro Grand National Flat Track Season Finale in Vegas and the inaugural Superprestigio of the Americas.  As a third generation motorcycle rider/racer, Steve has been on all sides of the sport of motorcycle racing. He roared on the scene as a fast amateur and went on to be a multi time winner at Daytona International Speedway. One of the most memorable races had to be his victory in the first official AMA Superbike race at the World Center of Racing. That race was a race long duel with Reg Pridmore. McLaughlin was riding the underpowered but lightweight airhead BMW R90S Butler and Smith airhead.  His family history of creating motorcycle race events and series ultimately led to his creating World Superbike working closely with "Big" Bill France!
