Maryam Ovissi is the founder and CEO of Beloved Yoga, a studio and wellness center operating in VA since 2005. Her vision for making Yoga accessible for all came to fruition in February 2018, with the opening of the flagship location of Beloved Yoga in Reston, Virginia. Maryam is a certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and she received her 500-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher accreditation with the Yoga Alliance. She is the co-author of Pilgrimage Through Patanjali's Yoga Sutras: Guidebook for 200 Hour Yoga Travelers, a modern approach to the ancient philosophical work of Yoga. Maryam serves on the board of the Greater Reston Arts Center and explores creativity in her own life through writing poetry and mark making.
