Shine bright like a diamond. These may be Rihanna’s lyrics but they certainly apply to Stephanie Battieste. As a mixed race girl with 3 brothers, growing up in a predominantly white neighbourhood, her struggles to find identity provided her with formative pressure. It was in a raggedy skateboard that was gifted to her brother that she found herself. With her passion and success in the skateboarding world it seemed only natural to start her own brand. Babes Brigade was then born. Soon Stephanie found out the business world was far more intense than the world she grew up in. It was a conversation she had during a trip to Venice Beach that kept her going. Now with  females ranging in age from 3 - 50, Boss Brigades has become so much more than just skateboarding.
