On October 3, 2016, the Walker County (Georgia) Sheriff dispatched a unit to 862 NICK-A-JACK Road in Flintstone, Georgia, re: an attempted suicide. Upon arrival the deputy found 27-year-old Don “DJ” Fickey deceased on his living room floor, from an apparently self-inflicted shotgun wound. According to witness statements, Fickey had allegedly been arguing with his wife just prior to the incident. A clear case of suicide according to the authorities. Not so fast, says DJ’s family. They have a strong case consisting of witnesses and other evidence, that DJ was murdered. DJ’s sister. Amanda Shirley, will discuss the case and what the family is doing to get justice.
