Message #386, Matthew 8:5-17, "Faith's Unconsidered Cost" Sunday, August 11, 2019 We continue in Matthew chapter eight, studying three more examples of Jesus power and authority. His compassionate exercise of both are set before us as proof that Jesus was the promised Messiah. In this study, we'll consider Jesus' healing of the centurion's servant, of Peter's mother-in-law, and of the multitudes. Our sermon questions are as follows: 1) Do I understand the exercise of God's authority for my benefit is an expression of His grace? That it is not a response to my worthiness or to my works? 2) What are the purposes of God's promises? 3) Do I look to God for all things, whether I perceive they are big or small? 4) Whose needs am I aware of that Jesus is inviting me to bring to Him? How can I do this so that they have an opportunity to believe Jesus is the promised Messiah?
