The season one finale of Titans, Dick Grayson, is definitely a Titans episode: obsessed with meaningless hyper-violence, empty talks of justice, and what’s going on in Dick’s brain. The show is at its best when it focused on Dick Grayson and his struggles to be more than what Batman taught him to be but Dick is never allowed to be anything more than what Batman taught him. Titans is committed to staying in the darkness without recognition of the potential for change or growth outside of some empty platitudes. Ultimately, what Titans is we don’t like.
