This is the experience of the Austrian star conductor Franz Welser-Möst. – The first time for me was the most stressful moment of my life, he says about his debut in the legendary TV event from the Musikverein. In this episode of Spotlight Franz Welser-Möst tells about what goes on behind the curtains at this famous concert, which for the viewer is a total musical joy. At the beginning of his career Franz Welser-Möst was for five years music director of Norrköping Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. Since then he has worked with orchestras all over the world and for almost 13 years he is the general music director of The Cleveland Orchestra. This orchestra has succeded in attracting a very young audience to classical music. A third of the audience is often under 18 years of age.
