Kate Bowers is a researcher and Human Factors Specialist with the National Energy Board (NEB) and she joins me in this podcast to discuss some interesting research she did on "Senior Management Safety Leadership Behavior." What is the importance of senior management in shaping the organizational culture around safety?  What is safety climate and how have some of the tools we use in the industry been misapplied? What key behaviours do leaders need to exhibit around safety to their workforce and where does the system sometimes break?
