In this week's episode, we unpack three innovation news stories:Story #1: Missouri engineers use AI to pinpoint flooded roads. Engineers at Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla are creating algorithms to give early flood warnings for drivers. The Missouri Department of Transportation will use the data to augment flood evacuation plans. The research focuses on Meramec River basin in eastern Missouri and parts of Nebraska and northwest Missouri that experienced record-breaking floods in late March from the Missouri River. Story #2: Solar panels take moisture from the air, convert it into clean drinking water. This innovation was developed by Arizona State University professor Cody Friesen who founded a company to develop the tech called Zero Mass Water.
