Synopsis Benton and Elane discuss why it is that, when people get into an argument, the argument is rarely about what they think it’s about. We often aren’t actually talking about what we’re talking about, at all.   This is the problem of paradigms: the way you think about an issue determines how you understand the facts.  So two people looking at the same facts can come to completely different conclusions. What we value determines our conclusions far more than do the facts.
