I'll Show You Mine

Welcome to another episode of I'll Show You Mine! This week, Elyse shows James "The Music Man" from 1962, directed by Morton DaCosta and starring Robert Preston and Shirley Jones, One of the classic American musicals, "The Music Man" tells the story of Harold Hill, a traveling salesman/con artist who comes to River City, Iowa to sell the residents on a boy's band, but gets a little more than he bargained for. Join us as we talk about how this musical is basically imprinted on Elyse's DNA because her dad played the lead role as a young adult, discuss all the musical nerdery at play, and just soak up the bright colors, fancy costumes, and precise choreography of one of the most beloved musicals of all time.
