Carryn-Ann Nel is an experienced journalist at Media24 who made her mark as a court reporter at Die Burger newspaper in Cape Town and later as an education reporter at Beeld in Johannesburg.  She is currently the Rykie van Reenen fellow at Stellenbosch University. I became friends with Carryn-Ann while we both worked at Die Burger newspaper in Cape Town. I visited her in Stellenbosch where we had a great conversation looking back on her career as a journalist to where she is now.
