Across The Hedge

Our even numbered episodes are all about folk and fairy tales. This is The Tale of Thorstein from Iceland. I do not know when it is from. It has been difficult to find information on this one. This tale may take inspiration from the Vatnsdaela saga, in which a young Thorstein is shamed by his father to into doing an epic deed. And so he hides in a giants house and then kills the giant. But that is just my guess! It may have no relation except for those surface commonalities, that can be found in other stories of Iceland, and it just happened to be a Thorstein in there.
