Severe Weather in the Southern States; Dangerous Heat in the West - Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain are likely from the southern Plains into the Mid to Lower Mississippi Valley today. Strong to severe storms are also possible across parts of the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and south Florida.
