Shailee Basnet is a native to Nepal and started her mountaineering journey in 2007 as a member of the ‘First Inclusive Women Sagarmatha Expedition’ (FIWSE). Following the Earthquake of 2015 Basnet has worked with Global Inclusive Adventure Organization (GIA) to help schools become world class education centers. She also co-leads an empowerment program for survivors of sex trafficking through GIA.
