Erasing Boundaries

Radio can be an intimate relationship. The airwaves connect the ideas from one mouth to the ears of another, with only a dial and airwaves in between. Yet this intimate relationship is inherently lopsided–only one side’s expression can be voiced and heard. When a musician steps on stage, however, the intimacy can work both ways. When William Fitzsimmons steps on stage, his beard brushing against the microphone and his four guitars waiting expectantly on stage, he is imploring the audience to join him and meet him halfway.
