The word "fire" is used over 500 times in the KJV of the Bible with only about a dozen times it is used in a fugurative sense.  And the times where it is used figuartively, It is clear.  The other times it is used in a literal sense.  Literal fire and literal eternal fire are always used in a literal sense in the Scriptures.  The fire of Hell and its eternal torment is a real, literal place.
