Sinopse

Potential changes to the Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill are just another step in a whole range of serious changes the government has taken that impact on landlords and favouring the tenants according to one property expert. The Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill has its second reading in the House today. It will end 90-day no-cause evictions, meaning landlords must offer more robust reasons for getting rid of tenants. One Roof property commentator, Ashley Church, told Chris Lynch there are about 550,000 rental homes in New Zealand of which around 440,000 are provided by the private sector. He says if you upset the balance of the sector, the only other party that can provide rental accommodation is the government so it's a silly thing to do to scare private investors out. LISTEN ABOVE
