Sinopse

664 homes were on-sold in the aftermath of the Canterbury earthquakes with re-repair issues. EQC Minister Megan Woods has said the bill for re-repairs could hit the billion dollar mark. Homeowners have been stuck in limbo - as EQC won't cover the cost of damage because it's over cap - and private insurers won't pay either.Chris Lynch spoke to former EQC Minister Gerry Brownlee who says this is not new. He said, "Insurance is a contract, and EQC is a contract and if EQC has come up short in the delivery on those contracts then quite fairly it has a problem it has to solve".
