Sinopse

Christchurch Regeneration Minister Megan Woods says there's no chance of a regional fuel tax being implemented in the city. The City Council wants to test public opinion on a four cents a litre fuel tax, to help repair earthquake damaged roads. But Transport Minister Phil Twyford has quashed the idea and Megan Woods told Chris Lynch it won't get signed off by central government."The fuel levy was only ever around Auckland and was only ever going to be covering Auckland and not for other places. We gave that commitment before the election."National MP Nicky Wagner is pleased the Government has put an end to the discussion."I'm glad that Phil came out of it. Otherwise, I would have had to have my petitions out with people saying, 'we need a petition on this!'"
