In this section of Mark, Jesus is betrayed and arrested. We find out that Judas, a close friend and disciple was the betrayer. How could Judas betray Jesus? Was evil winning in this grievous act? Jesus’ calm response is helpful for us - “let the scriptures be fulfilled”. Nothing about Jesus’ betrayal and arrest was out of control for Jesus. Jesus willingly submitted to the Sovereign purposes of God. We find God’s glory revealed most fully as we consider this magnificent plan. Discipleship Questions: 1.
