Jesus calls the first disciples with incredible effectiveness, why would men with good, stable lives leave everything to follow this somewhat unknown roaming prophet from Nazareth? Discipleship Questions: 1.When Jesus calls his first disciples he does so with incredible effectiveness, is this how God has always called his followers? 2. Does the reality of how effective Jesus’ call is bother you? Why? 3. Have you experienced ‘good’ or ‘bad’ things happen in your life since you started following Jesus? 4. What might possibly be the benefit of following Jesus, if there is no promise of immediate payoff? 5. What is the relationship between Jesus’ call and the disciples choice to follow him?
