Modern Warzone has reported that Sledgehammer Games is at work on 2021's Call of Duty, which known Call of Duty insider VictorZ shared will return to World War 2. Eurogamer's sources have confirmed this claim. However, Modern Warzone previously reported that the game would at least partially take place in the 1950s, leading to speculation of the game featuring an alternate timeline where the war didn't end in 1945.
