Signal Hill

Contrary to popular belief JJ’s on the Plaza is not named after popular owner Jimmy Frantze. In 1985, Jimmy purchased JJ’s Malane’s from his former business partner and the saloon’s namesake. Malane’s name went away but JJ’s name had remained three decades later.We sat down and talked with Jimmy about the early struggles, the success, the explosion and rebirth on Signal Hill.
