Natalie Weber has been involved in news coverage from both sides of the camera. She’s been a reporter, producer and, more recently, the public information officer for the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Southwest Division, the agency responsible for putting out fires on 1.8 million acres of land in Jackson and Josephine counties. Today on The Insider, Natalie discusses her transition from reporter to PIO, how last year’s Almeda and South Obenchain fires affected area personnel, what both fires mean for preparation this season, and new technology in ODF’s arsenal.
