On Monday, December 18, Fr. Christopher Vaccaro, Chaplain at University of Mary Washington, gave a reflection at the diocesan Chancery Advent Day of Prayer. “We must let the Lord interrupt our lives. In that very interruption, we are able to encounter those who must enter our lives.” Thresholds Fr. Vaccaro spoke of how in both the parish and campus ministry he encouraged his staff to view the threshold of the office with new eyes. These can and should be places of joyful encounter with visitors who often come to the Church because of a birth, baptism, marriage or other significant event. What are the thresholds in our offices and ministries which need to be brought to prayer and perhaps renewed, refocused, and improved? Interruptions Fr. Vaccaro described how the Lord often breaks into our busy schedules through interruptions.
