Sauvé received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed his residency in adult psychiatry at the National Capitol Consortium in Washington, DC, prior to deploying to the Al Anbar Province, Iraq, as the Regimental Psychiatrist for the 7th Marines. After eleven years of active duty service, Dr. Sauvé left the United States Navy to become the Clinical Director of the Military Program at Poplar Springs Hospital in Petersburg, VA, an inpatient structured program for the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Chemical Dependency that caters exclusively to the military population.
