Jesus had made some sobering claims about himself and some rather confrontational claims about the Jewish nation as well. How would he follow this up? What was the encore to something as dramatic as that? For goodness sake, they tried to throw him off of a cliff! The answer is simple; he began to do exactly what he had promised - proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners. Again, the people were all amazed. Think about your own first encounter with Jesus. Was it a result of someone else in your life and the interaction they were having with Jesus? 4. Do you often go away to pray? If not, why not? 5. Do you have a sense of GO when you talk to God? Does he ever put it on your heart to share your faith?
