David Godofsky is Leader of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group of Alston & Bird LLP, an AmLaw 100 law firm. Mr. Godofsky is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. He recently represented the Retirement Plan for Chicago Transit Authority Employees in the Supreme Court of Illinois in the Matthews case which challenged the constitutionality, under the Illinois State Constitution, of the CTA's pension reform agreement with its unions (decision pending). Mr. Godofskyalso successfully represented the Governor of Florida in the Supreme Court of Florida in the Williams case which challenged the constitutionality, under the Florida State Constitution, of the State's pension reform legislation.
