About Jovan As member of the Denver SlamNUBA national slam poetry team, he has had many highlights including winning the 2 Denver city slam championships and qualifying for 3 international finals stages. Mays has been published by The Pilgrimage, Button Poetry and Write About Now. He is the former slam master for the highly decorated poetry organization SlamNUBA, author of 4 chap books and director of Your Writing Counts a youth poetry program throughout the Denver Metro that engages just over 200,000 students annually. A graduate of Chadron State College where he played football wrestled and earned a degree in Secondary History Education.
