This novel was written in 1899 it shares the struggle of a woman coming into herself, her mistakes and her passions.  The song I share was created on Abelton and also titled The Awakening  and was inspired in part by this book.   Here are some quotes from the book: She was becoming herself and daily casting aside that fictitious self which we assume like a garment with which to appear before the world.
