Josh Tjaden and guest host interview Tomik Dash and Victor Jeffreys on the upcoming activism and celebrations for Juneteenth Weekend on Fire Island. BaBec has been organizing, educating and celebrating with the businesses and gay community for several years, leading up to this year’s Juneteenth bash! • • • The weekend’s events include Teadances, Salon conversations, and both Pride and Diversity marches to raise awareness of discrimination and violence in these communities. • • • In the spirit of summer 2020’s racial reckoning, the work continues with Beyond Diversity Education and a call to end police and gun violence against black and brown queer folk and others. The show will include a report on Gays Against Guns Pulse 5 Years Event, commemorating the 49 lives lost to gun violence at the Pulse Nightclub on 6.12.26.
