Back in 1981 rock band KISS released an ambitious album called Music from the Elder. It was intended to serve as the soundtrack for a movie. According to Gene Simmons several actors had already been cast and a script was in the works. All that came to a screeching halt after the album was released. Music from the Elder was panned by many fans and critics alike. Later reviewers have been kinder to Music from the Elder, but it is still considered one of KISS' least successful albums. In this episode Al discusses the original script for the movie, Seb Hunter's attempt to make an adaptation in 2012, and his ideas for how he would write a movie that would more closely follow the music on the album. A lot of the information for this episode comes from Odyssey: The definitive examination of "Music From The Elder," KISS' cult-classic concept album by Tim McPhate and Julian Gill.
