On Christmas Eve, 1968, the astronauts aboard Apollo 8,while making the first Lunar Orbit, made a special Christmas Eve broadcast including reading a portion of Genesis 1's creation narrative. Christopher J. Kraft, Jr (NASA flight director for Apollo missions) and Melanie Saunders (current Deputy Director of NASA, Washington D.C.)both offered their insights along with the words of the astronauts 50 years later.
