Crystal Hilsley was raised by a vegetarian nurse for a mother. You could say I had an advantage but as we all know the daughter of the pastor is the most deviant. My mom tried every trick in the book to get me to eat whole foods. I'd hide them in my napkin or try to feed them to my cat. I'd save my piggy bank funds and buy junk from the corner store and hide it in my closet to binge when I was left on my own, which was often as I was raised by a single mom. I remember telling my mom on a trip to the grocery store “I can't wait to grow up and have kids of my own, I'm going to let them eat twinkies and ding-dongs whenever they want”. HA!! Fast forward and I am a mother to a little girl who is trying to pull the same tricks I did. One of my favorite mantras I live by is: "A strong woman looks at a challenge dead in the eye and gives it a wink." So bring it on my mini, I love watching you try to pull one over on me. My journey is and always will be in the works and I love learning by listening to the cues by body
