This weekend we continue looking at the Beatitudes as part of a new message series, called "The Good Life According to Jesus." After looking at several beatitudes that seem confusing on first read, this one is more straightforward: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Although straightforward, this beatitude is challenging. It invites us to think about what it is we "hunger and thirst" for. Thinking honestly about this can be really helpful, as long as we don't fall into the trap of beating ourselves up, or going to a place of shame.
