Mary Vincent had been trying to hitch a ride from Berkeley, California, near San Francisco, down to Corona, California, near Los Angeles. She accepted a ride from 51 year old Larry Singleton. She called him out for missing the exit, and driving the wrong way. Soon after he apologized for his mistake, he pulled off the interstate to relieve himself. He pulled onto a secluded road, and got out to pee.
