Gulls In Flight

The San Diego Gulls returned home Wednesday night to take on its Pacific Division rival Stockton Heat for the 3rd time in a row. Over the weekend, the Gulls split a road series with the Heat in Stockton, losing 5-2 on Friday and winning 3-0 on Saturday.  The Gulls currently sit tied for 2nd place in the division with San Jose with 66 points, so tonight's game was a great opportunity to gain a ground as they near the playoff push! After a wild, back and forth first period of play, the San Diego Gulls and Stockton Heat were locked in a 2-2 tie heading into the second period. Kalle Kossila and Adam Cracknell led the way for San Diego, and goalie Jeff Glass stopped 11 of the 13 shots he faced. The Gulls jumped out to an early 2-goal lead in the 2nd period, however, Stockton stormed back and scored 3 unanswered goals to grab a 5-4 lead heading into the final period of play. Unfortunately, the Gulls were unable to capitalize on key opportunities in the final period of play, and fell 7-5 to Stockton. ICYM
