For our first premiere of the week, we present a track from one of Ireland’s leading and hardest working producers, Doug Cooney. The RLSD boss man is no stranger to knocking out prime techno cuts, and ‘Covalent’ is no exception, as Doug channels classic dub techno auras with definitive 909 grooves. Doug Cooney lives and breathes techno within every facet of his life and has dedicated many years to the genres growth and wellbeing in Ireland. From setting up one of Ireland’s best techno labels RLSD, to teaching in Bray Institute Of Further Education, alongside teaching his RLSD classes, to churning out proper techno 12 inches, there’s few Irish DJs and producers that come close to Doug Cooney in terms of impact on the Irish techno scene. Doug Cooney also boast’s being one of the most technically gifted DJs on the isle of Ireland. Meticulous attention to detail behind a set of turntables has seen Cooney share the booth with formidable techno figures such as Dave Clarke, James Ruskin, UVB, Mark Broom and more.
