Nurah Speaks

Build your own table before demanding a seat at the table of another. For decades we have petitioned to be treated with equity by white America; but have we enjoined equal labor, commitment, investment, love and governance among our own? This conversation challenges us. What have we done amongst ourselves, FOR OURSELVES - except sport and entertainment - that would urge others to welcome us into their society? We must study the successful operations of other groups-and model their self service and self interest. Equality is right-but it is not enough to demand equality without doing an equal duty to ourselves, as others have done for themselves. We will only be respected outwardly when we demonstrate viability inwardly.
